Dr. Anamika Shreevastava is an Assistant Professor at NYU Tandon School of Engineering, jointly appointed in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and the Center for Urban Science and Progress (CUSP). Her research focuses on how cities generate and experience extreme heat, specializing in numerical weather modeling, remote sensing, and complex systems science.

Her postdoctoral work at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Caltech advanced thermal remote sensing and urban microclimate monitoring, with particular attention to how extreme heat disproportionately affects marginalized communities in Los Angeles.

She is advising Aarav on the THRIVE project, bringing her expertise in urban heat, remote sensing, and data-driven climate science to support his work linking tree canopy and land surface characteristics to heat-related health outcomes across LA and San Bernardino counties.
